Abstract [eng] The master's thesis examines the pension system of the Republic of Lithuania, describes the prevailing types of pensions based on various normative acts, constitutional jurisprudence and scientific articles or other information sources. On the basis of constitutional jurisprudence, the taught information is argued, the legislator's provisions are justified, or the latter are detailed as contradicting the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania. The work describes in detail social insurance pensions, state pensions, annuities, compensations, welfare pensions and their types. A lot of attention is paid to individual types of pensions, aspects of their legal regulation: grounds for awarding pension benefits or not awarding them, necessary conditions for the right to an appropriate pension, calculations of amounts, pension goals. Problems faced by persons who want to receive certain pensions or problems arising from established provisions of the legislator are indicated. The work emphasizes the importance of the social insurance pension system as a social security institute - a certain pension benefit is given to a person due to a social risk factor, and the benefit partially or fully compensates the loss of a person's income. Other state pensions or annuities and compensatory payments established by the legislator are also excluded, which are awarded for service to the Republic of Lithuania, work in the field of science, art, high sports achievements or special working conditions. The benefits are periodic and are open-ended or timed until the end of the social risk factor or due to other provisions specified in the law.
