Abstract [eng] Aim: The aim of this study is to analyze different types of hearing impairments, their treatments, and hearing protection methods. Objectives: 1. Analyze hearing disorders and pathogenesis. 2. Analyze hearing loss treatment. 3. Determine prevention measures and their importance. Methodology: The literature search for this study was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar. Articles dealing with acute and chronic noise induced hearing loss, as well as their development and treatment options, were selected. The articles were chosen based on the following keywords: "noise induced hearing loss", "acute acoustic trauma", "chronic noise induced hearing loss", "treatment", and "safe listening guidance". After reviewing the article titles, relevant articles were selected, and noise induced hearing losses were differentiated with their differences described. Results: The scientific literature describes two types of noise induced hearing loss: acute and chronic. Hearing loss differs in its pathophysiology and treatment. Loud noise can occur in both work and leisure environments and can have a toxic effect not only on auditory receptors but also on other organs, impairing the quality of life. Conclusion: Despite the possibility of preventing noise induced hearing loss, it is increasing worldwide. The prevention of hearing loss is the most crucial part of treating chronic hearing loss. It consists of safe hearing practices and the use of hearing aids. Various methods are available to treat acute acoustic trauma, with the best results achieved when treatment is initiated immediately after the injury.
