Inesa Derbinaitė. Relationships between job characteristics, employee psychological capital, burnout, and work engagement: masters degree thesis / The head of thesis doc. dr. Dalia Bagdžiūnienė. Vilniaus University. Faculty of philosophy. In this thesis were made analyse of literature and research about job demands, workers psychological capital, burnout and work engagement and its relationships in between. In literature review you can find information about job demands, PsyCap, burnout, and engagement in to work. The aim of this research is to determine if there are relationships between previously mentioned constructs. After literature analyse, I couldn’t find same research as this thesis, only similar to it, that’s why it is good theme to increase research. To reach aim of a research I have used anonymous survey which was completed via internet, there was 55 questions. In a questionnaire we can find questions about sociodemographic – age, gender, education, job demands. These questions were decided to ask because it could affect research data. In study participated 203 respondents. For reliability of the questionnaires and subtests I used Cronbach’s a and validity was checked with varimax rotation. For this study I used non-parametric statistical criteria: Mann-Whitney tests for independent samples, Spearman correlation, Kruskal-Wollis test. To predict work engagement and burnout was used liner regression. Main results: A number of differences were observed by sociodemographic characteristics, such as differences by gender, age, job position, age, etc. Subjects' involvement in work is statistically significantly positively correlated with cognitive requirements, autonomy, support of colleagues, support of managers, feedback, growth opportunities, psychological capital. Employee burnout is positively predicted by workload, emotional demands, and growth opportunities. The subjects' involvement in work is positively predicted by growth opportunities, psychological capital, and negatively by feedback.
