Abstract [eng] |
The purpose of this Master's thesis is to reveal the influence of the leadership role on the quality of an organization's performance. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: 1. To analyse the concept of leadership and the roles of the leader in an organization. 2. To study the concept, criteria and indicators of organisational performance quality. 3. To review the impact of leadership roles on organisational performance quality. The method of systematic analysis was used in the work: the concept of leadership, personal qualities and value attitudes of the leader, and the sources of power of influence were analysed. The literature review also looked at the roles of the leader, the concept of organisational performance quality, criteria and indicators and how leaders influence organisational performance quality. In the following, the author presents the research model developed and the analysis of the empirical study. The author's research aimed to find out how a leader's personal qualities and roles influence the quality of an organisation's performance. Three hypotheses were put forward and confirmed by the study: H1 – the personal qualities of a leader have a positive impact on the quality of the organisation's performance; H2 – leadership roles have a positive impact on the quality of the organization's performance; H3 – The personal qualities of a leader through roles affect the quality of the organization's performance. For the quantitative survey, 122 respondents working in four schools in Skuodas district were interviewed, 11 of whom did not fully answer the questionnaire questions. As a result of the exclusion analysis, 11 questionnaires were rejected. Data analysis was carried out by the SPSS program. The author conducted a construct reliability analysis, which confirmed that the constructs used in the work are reliable. Tests of normality and significance of the data distribution were also carried out, and finally, moderation and mediation analyses were carried out. Based on the analysis of the study, it was found that both the leader's personal qualities and the leader's roles have an impact on the organisation's performance. The influence of the leader's personal qualities other than neuroticism on organisational performance, on the leader's eight roles as mediator was also observed. The younger the subjects are, the more favourably they perceive the leader's awareness (r = –0.193). Also, the lower the education level of the subjects, the more pronounced the leader's neuroticism (r = –0.236) and openness to innovation (r = –0.197). It was observed that the higher the length of service of the subjects, the better the overall quality of the organization's performance is assessed (r = 0.215). The work concludes with a set of conclusions highlighting the most important aspects of the scientific literature and the results of empirical research. The author hopes that the findings and insights of this work made will contribute to the body of knowledge in management science, which can be used by human resource specialists, quality management specialists, organizational managers, etc. |
