Volume of work with appendices – 71 pages. Introduction. The role of advanced practice nurses in primary care is crucial to ensuring comprehensive and accessible healthcare for individuals and communities. In this area, they perform a range of specific functions aimed at improving patient outcomes and increasing the efficiency of health care delivery. One of these functions is patient counselling, and the appropriate adaptation and implementation of these activities in primary care is essential to achieve the best outcomes in personal health care services. The aim of the research work is to analyse advanced practice nurse consultation activities in primary health care. Materials and methods. To analyze the consultative activities of advanced practice nurses in primary healthcare, a systematic review of scientific literature by Lithuanian and foreign authors was conducted, a research instrument – a semi-structured interview was created, and a qualitative study was performed. The study involved advanced practice nurses providing independent consultations in primary healthcare and patients who participated in these consultations. Results. Advanced practice nurses providing independent consultations in primary healthcare offer comprehensive patient support and ensure continuity of healthcare services. During consultations, they discuss the rational use of medications, provide information about preventive programs, manage chronic diseases, and offer recommendations on disease prevention and health promotion. Patients view the activities of these specialists favorably and are willing to seek their assistance in the future. Conclusions. Advanced practice nurses feel a significant responsibility for the information provided to patients during consultations. They face various challenges when consulting patients, but they observe a growing trust from both patients and other healthcare professionals, influenced by interprofessional collaboration and feedback from patients. While patients may initially be skeptical of these specialists during their first consultations, during subsequent consultations, patients become convinced of the competence of advanced practice nurses to provide independent consultations.
