In this master thesis I investigate the relationship between Norwegian and foreign scholars in the Norwegian academic community in the C. Hellestveit community debate from 19-09-2021 to 07-03-2022. I am looking for the collective social identity of the Norwegian academic community, the relation to the other and how this is reflected. To answer this, I am searching for the values, norms or social roles that define Norwegian and foreign academics, and what the status of these two social groups in the common social category Norwegian academics is. The theoretical approach I use is social identity theory and politeness as well common ingroup identity model and ingroup projection model. |
