Abstract [eng] |
The main purpose of this master thesis was to analyze the role of concessional loans provided by the state during the crisis period and to evaluate their benefits for the activities of companies. The paper focuses on prevailing economic crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, when companies feel financial pressure due to difficult market conditions. In order to maintain stable financial indicators, companies often look for financial support. One of the types of support offered by the state to companies is loans with concessional interest. In the study, which focuses on 36 companies of Lithuania at critical 2019-2022 period, aims to understand whether concessional loans are, in fact, a useful support tool for improving the financial indicators and results of companies. Results of performed research has shown that concessional loans benefited companies, but not as significantly as expected, as only a few companies showed more significant results. In summary, it can be said that during economic crises, concessional loans granted by the state significantly help companies manage liquidity, reduce financial risks and maintain operational stability. However, the extent of their impact varies by company size and sector. While these loans are useful in the short term, companies must also focus on building resilience and reducing dependence on external financial support to ensure long-term sustainability and growth. The literature analysis provides more insights about economic crises and the types of financial support provided by the state during challenging times. |
