Abstract [eng] |
The global unrest that has arisen around the world in the last few decades affects not only individuals, but all people in general. The financial crisis of 2007-2010 affected all sectors of life. Financially it was difficult for many, many companies went bankrupt, many people lost their jobs. The global financial crisis is considered the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s (Manuchehr Shahrokhi, 2011). It could be argued that by ensuring financial stability and business continuity in advance, the blow to both society and the country's economy could be reduced, but everything must be done now to prevent this from happening again in the future. For these reasons, sustainable development has become even more important and received even more attention. The concept of sustainable development has grown into a rather comprehensive and complex topic. It should be noted that there is no unified definition of sustainability, and sustainability is understood as the ability to meet one's own needs without jeopardizing the needs of future generations (World Council on Environment and Development, 1987). This concept emphasized that economic development, environmental development and social development cannot be studied separately from each other. There are global action plans for sustainable development (Fadime Aksoy, Nuran Bayram Arlı, 2019). in 2015 UNESCO has defined 17 Sustainable Development Goals to address the world's greatest challenges (UNESCO). Companies now realize that they need to develop a strong social conscience and a green sense of responsibility where corporate responsibility is not an altruistic pleasure but a business necessity. In short, to create a green world where consumers and workers are forced to change (Anuj Sheopuri, Anita Sheopuri, 2015). Economic sustainability indicates a production system capable of meeting consumption levels using available resources but without compromising future needs, social sustainability is a social process that improves people's quality of life. The main goal here is permanent social welfare. Environmental sustainability means conservation of natural resources. The happiness and well-being of society depends heavily on the progress of sustainable development. Sustainable happiness, like the pursuit of happiness, contributes to global, societal and individual well-being without exploiting other people, the environment or future generations (Fadime Aksoy, Nuran Bayram Arlı, 2019). The understanding and practice of sustainability in everyday activities will not suddenly become a common thing in society, so it is necessary to accustom people to innovations and changing behavioral habits, encouraging them to behave sustainably. In companies, this can be done by integrating the laws of sustainability into the organization's strategic plan. By combining these two points, it would be possible to work out a smooth integration of the laws of sustainability into both the company's operations and the employees' behavior. Also to find a connection, how these factors correlate with each other and how they affect the general engagement of employees at work. Since both social, economic and environmental actions of sustainable development must become a habit of the organization and each of its members, these processes take place relatively slowly. However, by incorporating these processes into a company's strategic planning, taking into account established norms and government regulations, and setting a good example within the company, sustainable development can be implemented in every company and have significant benefits for the future success of the company. These changes are very important not only from the point of view of individual companies, but also against the backdrop of global crises, they allow people to move on and focus on ensuring a successful life for all. |
