Abstract [eng] The process of suicide is a long process, which can vary in time and has many challenges to overcome. This study aims to find out what people experience when they encounter adverse life events in the suicide process and what coping strategies are used by people in the process of suicide. The participants were 5 women and 1 non-binary person. The study used semi-structured interview and the data were analysed by inductive thematic analysis. The results revealed 8 themes of coping strategies: 1. Withdrawal when it's too intense; 2. Experiencing inner pain by turning it into other pain; 3. The situation is out of control; 4. No one helps and can't help; 5. Seeking help at a difficult time; 6. Communicating the need for help; 7. Remembering that you want to live; 8. Building a relationship with life. The analysis of the results showed that people in the process of suicide experience feelings of hopelessness, frustration, and entrapment, which contribute to psychological distress, psychache, and an unbearable emotional state when faced with adverse life events. Coping strategies include withdrawal, avoidance and submission. Coping strategies using internal and social resources include seeking help, emotion cognition, satisfying needs and mindfulness.
