Abstract [eng] To this day, eating disorders remain a serious psychological health problem in our society, affecting not only women, but men too - it is estimated, that males account for one in four cases of eating disorders (Sangha et al., 2019). Despite that, our knowledge about male eating psychopathology is seriously lacking, therefore the aim of this study was to broaden our understanding of the way males experience an eating disorder. This study consisted of 4 men (mean age 28,7) who had or have had an eating disorder. Study was based on a qualitative reseaerch strategy, data were collected using biographical narrative interpretative method (Wengraff, 2011) as well as semi-structured interviews and analyzed applying a method of thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006). Analysis of data yielded 3 main themes: (1) trapped in the „not enough”; (2) safety of one's suffering; (3) the old new me. Results confirm other studies conclusions about males avoidance of help seeking and potential barriers to receiving treatment and adds to the literature probable risks factors.
