Abstract [eng] |
The triplet (a,b,c) of positive integers is called: sum-feasible if there exist algebraic numbers α and β of degrees a and b (over Q), respectively, such that the degree of α+β is c; product-feasible if there exist algebraic numbers α and β of degrees a and b (over Q), respectively, such that the degree of α⋅β is c; compositum-feasible if there exist number fields K and L of degrees a and b (over Q), respectively, such that the degree of their compositum KL is c. This doctoral thesis extends the investigation of sum-feasible, product-feasible and compositum-feasible triplets started by Drungilas, Dubickas, Luca and Smyth. |
