Abstract [eng] Aim of the master thesis is to analyse singularities of organizational culture and to justify the necessity and opportunities for its improvement in telecommunication companies in Šiauliai. The results revealed have demonstrated that employees are not satisfied with the current situation of organizational culture. In their opinion, a greater satisfaction would settle within an organization if a friendly workplace – of a clan type and not related to the work completed, need for competition, i.e. culture of a market type - would prevail in the organization when improving the organizational culture. They have foreseen a large gap between the existing (market) and the requested (clan) organizational cultures. Managers consider that the most important cultural characteristics within an organization are as follows: focusing on the market, result, employees’ ability to compete, to take initiative and to strive for the competition goal. This allows to foresee the need for changing, improving the organizational culture mostly on the initiative of employees and also on the initiative of the manager.
