In this post- modern society, the established mass media is penetrating into our daily lives and affects not only the perception of the outside world but also the concept identity, and images from the screen are associated with the perception of the reality. In modern cinema super hero often depicted as a simple as physically vulnerable person inspired by comic books or movies, and his heroism becomes recognizable only in costume and heroic feats of the city streets. Both cinema and reality, super hero becomes obvious imitation as a mask behind which hides a person influenced by popular imagery, story telling about fantastic heroes. Sometimes it appears in the media the initiators of the event dressed as the movies characters. It can be stated that there is a erasing line between fantasy and the real world in this paradoxical phenomenon. The image of the hero realized earthly plane acquiring various phenomenal manifestations in society. Superhero image has its own concept based on mythological, religious, philosophical theories. History testifies about the character's special meaning during the war. It becomes a kind of response to the filmmakers during the relevant social, political and global issues. Lithuania superhero phenomenon is not relevant, but for the western and the mass media influence young contemporary artists do not turn away from this theme and use it in their creation. In my creative work I depict characters that are lost between the two spaces: the screen and reality. And who discovers and at the same time loses one’s identity along superhero costume. |
