Abstract [eng] The Master thesis analyses the system of support to a family growing a child with multiple disabilities. Case analysis is carried out employing half-structural interview method, the aim of which is to identify the structure and functioning peculiarities of the support system to a family growing a child with multiple disabilities. The theoretical analysis of scientific literature, the analysis of legal documents, and content analysis were carried out. A mother of two children with multiple disabilities, experts – a physician of early rehabilitation service, the director and social worker of the services and employment centre, the director of pedagogical psychological service, and the head of region municipality administration social support health unit took part in the research. Data received in the empirical part have been processed in a descriptive way, divided into categories and subcategories, the data were related to the theoretical context. According to the analyzed case there is presented a model of support to a family growing a child with multiple disabilities and the model improvement possibilities are revealed. The most important conclusions of the empirical research are as follows: 1. It was revealed in the course of the research that the family growing children with multiple disabilities receives complex support. Medical aid is provided – the services of kinesitherapists and other specialists working in health sector, procedures and medications, compensation technique is applied focussed on the improvement of the child’s health. Teaching assistance to the young man – an individualized education program and the employment of the adolescent self-sufficiency training. Social aid to the family – financial support, compensatory measures, and short time social care for the adolescent in the institution oriented to better quality of family social life. 2. Medical and social services are of special relevance to the family. In the process of the support system the following factors are important: improvement of positive attitude of the society towards people with disability, development of professional competences of specialists, psychologist’s assistance for parents, environment customization and abundance of measures, assurance of coordinator’s services, consultations and clear information. 3. In today’s support system it is necessary to improve social and medical services, their accessibility and efficiency, inter-institutional collaboration – interaction among the specialists working in medical and education institutions which would work not at family’s efforts but on the initiative of the specialists working in various institutions.
