Abstract [eng] |
The doctoral dissertation "Renal Perfusion Changes in Patients with Aortic Coarctation" examines the effects of coarctation of the aorta (CoA) on renal perfusion and its relationship with systemic hypertension. The study investigates the influence of aortic arch morphology on renal perfusion, even in cases where pressure gradients have been successfully addressed. Particular emphasis is placed on age-related and gender-specific differences, as well as the impact of antihypertensive therapies in optimizing clinical outcomes. The findings highlight the persistence of renal perfusion abnormalities and their implications for long-term patient management. This research advances the clinical understanding of CoA and underscores the importance of individualized therapeutic approaches beyond correcting pressure gradients. |
