Abstract [eng] Managing people and organization is both - science and art. Every single act in management is related to acts performed by other people. Those acts manifest themselves in certain rights and consequences. The goal of the manager who creates his or her own image is to succeed in fulfilling the aims and objectives of the organization. The image, in other words an authority or a standing, of a manager is a trait which helps the person to persuade, direct and influence others to do what he or she expects them to do. A manager must not allow personal interests and concerns to interfere with pursuing a common goal. A meant-to-be manager has to be sincerely interested in his or her employees’ lives and to create harmonious interpersonal relationships. When there is no contact with the people involved, i.e. colleagues, or the contact is lost, work done is fruitless and vain. What is more, the manager loses his or her standing in an organization. In a successful and growing organization the key concept ‘lead and show the way’ has to be the guiding star as often as possible. The concept ‘control’, on the contrary, has to be applied only as much as needed. It follows that too much control expands personnel and diminishes initiative, too little of it brings the organization to chaos. It is a matter of selecting the right people to do the job professionally and with skill, not a matter of finding anybody for a vacant post. Furthermore, each employee should be allocated with as many tasks as he or she can efficiently accomplish. Directing and controlling employees has to be a persistent and consistent practice. Following the above mentioned principles and representation duties a manager can score a great success in creating his or her lasting image as well as the lasting image of the organization. “Human initiative and enthusiasm are the most precious energies in the world. Managerial success depends greatly on how much of that energy the manager can get from every single employee and where he or she diverts that extracted energy.” The research results have shown that the manager doesn’t really correspond to the efficient manager described in theory. However, in many cases it is clearly noticeable that the employees appreciate, respect and follow their manager. The manager of the company is a charismatic personality knowing how to lead the whole team, motivate and challenge them. To conclude, the manager in theory will always differ from the manager in the real world context.
