Recently in active economic an social processes of globalization, tourism is becoming one of the leading industries in many countries. Currently in Lithuania the most rapidly developing branch of tourism - rural tourism, which is an important part of regional economy. This is due to the fact that Lithuania has good regional, economic, demographic, infrastructural and natural conditions to develop rural tourism. Together with the increasing popularity of rural tourism, sports tourism sector is developing, as these two branches is closely linked and complement one another since the vast majority of rural tourism include sports activities as the main attractions for tourists. Samogitia region has a great potential to develop rural tourism business as it has a spectacular landscape of lakes and opportunities associated with this potential for sports tourism. Therefore, the analysis of the rural and sports tourism development possibilities, existing services, and entertainment complex are presented in the paper. Rural and sports tourism is the object in this master's final paper. The tasks of master's final paper: 1. To study and describe theoretic aspects of traditional rural and sports tourism. 2. To explore the theoretic aspects of regional development system. 3. After evaluation of examined scientific literature, already made researches about rural and sports tourism, to make a structure of development possibilities for rural and sports tourism model. 4. After evalutation of rural and sports tourism model to form the empirical research scripts in order to research the development possibilities of rural and sports tourism in Samogitia region. 5. After analysis of made research, to make the improvements for the theoretic model of development possibilities of rural and sports tourism. There were used qualitative research forms – case studies, and quantitative research form - questionnaire surveys, which results helped to research the development possibilities of rural and sports tourism development in Samogitia region. The scope of this work is 92 pages, including 11 tables and 35 pictures. |
