Abstract [eng] Organizational commitment is claimed to be a critical factor in reducing employee’s actual turnover or intention to leave and enhancing organizational effectiveness for the past few decades. It is stated that organizational commitment is also linked with job satisfaction, organizational culture, job involvement, leadership style and many other variables. Literature analysis showed that links between organizational commitment and some factors a not clear though. Moreover, there is a shortage of information about some specific connections. The purpose of this research was to explore the peculiarities of links between organizational commitment, leadership style and job involvement and to compare these links with each other. 116 participants filled in questionnaires about their organizational commitment, job involvement and the leadership style of their direct superiors. Statistical data analysis revealed that organizational commitment has a stronger correlation with people oriented leadership style than with task oriented leadership style. It was concluded that the link between organizational commitment with task orientated leadership style does not differ statistically significantly from the organizational commitment link with job involvement. On the other side, the correlation of organizational commitment with job involvement is different from the connection between organizational commitment and people oriented leadership style. During this research attention was also paid to the influential nature of the relationship between the variables. The results show that the impact of leadership styles is stronger on organizational commitment in compare with job involvement. This research benefits understanding of some peculiarities of organizational commitment, explains the nature of links between research variables and provides recommendations for further research.
