The objects of this research are conception of image component formation and program for city image creating. Research method. In creating of this study analysis of data from scientific literature and digests was used. In the theoretical part of this research importance of the image for the city and impacts of image are discussed. In work components of the image and main factors also are represented. In the practical part of this research the most important factors for image formation are analyzed and image of the Kaunas, which is created by mass- media, is investigated. The first investigation was dedicated for clarifying viewpoint to real criminal situation, which is formed by the biggest daily paper in Lithuania “Lietuvos rytas”. The overview of the fifth page in this daily paper was performed. In this page the review of all Lithuanian criminal news is published. The results of this investigation showed, that name of Kaunas city in these reviews was mentioned most often. For the second investigation the biggest daily paper of the Kaunas -”Kauno diena” was selected. This investigation was performed to clarify, with what kind of articles this paper every morning is trying to engage not only permanent subscribers but also potential buyers. The first page of this paper was selected for investigation. After analysing 278 publications in first page of “Kauno diena”, was established, that only about 30% of them are positive. It may be stated, that in both virtual space and mass- media the negative image of city of Kaunas is formed. This image impacts the business opportunities, quality of life for those who lives in Kaunas and also climate in the city in negative way. In summary it can be said, that system for creating the image of Kaunas is not purposeful. The responsible institution for controlling this process and consistently realizing city popularization program is still missing. In this way the image of the city could be created with complex of coordinating actions, but not with single actions. |
