Abstract [eng] The Doctoral Dissertation aims to reveal the possibilities to apply musical improvisation in development of future music teachers’ creativity. Musical improvisation can facilitate the complex process of personality self-creation, help a person act in a non-standard way. As pedagogical activities lack suitable methods for improvisational development, designed or adapted research instruments enabling identification of results of person’s creative performance, it is relevant to investigate creativity developed by musical improvisation. The research focuses on the following problem questions: how can musical improvisation contribute to development of students’ creativity? What is the educational significance of musical improvisation when integrating it into music pedagogy studies in university? What is the applied use of musical improvisation in pedagogical performance? The first part of the Doctoral Dissertation carries out analysis of the theoretical discourse of creativity. The second part reveals the concept of improvisation. The third part introduces the results of the pilot research. The fourth part deals with the efficiency of the designed experimental education methods applying musical improvisation being proved by empirical research. By employing the designed diagnostic instruments, the changes in musical creative thinking that happened during the experimental education have been compared in a systemic aspect. The manifestations of creativity in improvisations have been assessed by employing the empirical criteria of musical creative thinking. The positive impact of improvisation on development of respondents’ musical creativity, the educational, applied use of improvisation have been estimated by applying several methods of data collection and processing according to the principle of triangulation.
