Abstract [eng] The main goal of this work was to analyze the expression of preschool children (3 – 5 years old) emotional problems according to parents‘ and caregivers‘ ratings on syndrome and DSM-oriented scales. It aimed to examine the prevalence of emotional problems – in general and separately by the gender and age of the child, the comorbidity of internalizing problems, as well as to search for the relation of emotional problems and various characteristics of child‘s nearest family and social environment and different stressful events, experienced by the child. The problematic group was separated, so the same elements were analyzed in regard to the common and problematic samples. The research analyzed the data of 594 children, the information about their emotional and behavioral problems was received by parents and caregivers. CBCL/1½-5 and C-TRF were used (Achenbach, Rescorla, 2000), as well as semi-structured Child‘s Environment‘s Questionnaire, created by the group of scientists, guided by R. Jusienė. The results revealed that preschool children have around 6 – 8 % emotional problems, in general and up to different emotional problems’ scales. The are no emotional problems’ distribution’s differences in regard of child’s gender or age in the problematic sample, however in the general sample it can be seen that girls have higher scores on the somatic complaints’ scale. Besides, according to caregivers assessment, 3-year-olds have higher scores on emotional reactivity’s and anxieties scales, comparing with 4-year olds, and the scores on somatic complaints scale are highest in 5-year-olds group. The comorbidity of emotional problems also was seen. Analyzing the connection between children emotional problems and various risk factors, the relation with children’ living place, subjective assessment of family’s finance state and emotional stresses (on parents ratings), as well as with mother’s education and child’s diseases (on parents and caregivers’ ratings) was found in the general, but not in problematic sample. Finally, it can be noticed that in the general sample a higher match between mothers and caregivers ratings was found, comparing it with the match between fathers and caregivers ratings, however this match in problematic group was weak.
