Abstract [eng] The master’s thesis analyses credit insurance agreements with greatest attention paid to the agreements of credit and factoring insurance, as well as the description of the main parts of the following agreements indicating the rights and obligations of parties. Moreover, the master’s thesis focuses on the basic peculiarities of the aforementioned agreements, indicates the sources of law regulating credit insurance agreements, defines the main differences and problems, offers case law examples, and separates from other similar transactions. The subject of this master’s thesis has been analysed on the basis of applicable legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and the EU laws. The main terms have been provided. The greatest attention has been paid to the discussion of practical problems arising during the implementation of a credit agreement, and to the means with the help of which the essence and nature of a credit insurance agreement as well as the peculiarities of the rights and obligations of an insurer and policyholder are revealed. In order to reduce the risks and to protect the interests of businesses, i.e. business interests of policyholders, companies often search for reliable means of business risk reduction. As the result, in this master’s thesis, great attention has been paid to the analysis of the means of credit risk reduction, the description of their legal relationships, and their variety and complexity. The master’s thesis been divided into 18 chapters, which describe and analyse basic legal regulation provisions and relations between parties, indicate the basic requirements and classification, introduce the main terms and insurance principles, define the main sources of law governing a credit insurance agreement, and determine advantages and disadvantages of a credit insurance agreement.
