Abstract [eng] The final piece of work analyses the implementation of the strategy of an enterprise catering for tourists. It is considered as a part of management. The prevailing point of view is that the pursuit of a strategy might be understood as a complex of actions and decisions aimed to achieve the objectives of the organisation. The actions and decisions are influenced by various things. The study is meant to analyse such decisions which guarantee the least negative impact. The aim of the paper is to analyse the ways tourist organizations use for adopting a strategy. The object of the study is the sector of tourism. The first part contains some operationalisation of the object, defines the essence of the strategy and deals with the concepts and system of management. The second part includes the methodology of the study and justifies the field of the study. It also acquaints with the instruments and the process of the investigation. The following criteria are taken into consideration : experience necessary for the project, the size of the enterprise and the part of the commodity market, the structure of the organization, work experience and cooperation with partners abroad. There are two tourism enterprises in Lithuania suitable for the study. As no consent has been received from one of them, the study mainly deals with one object which suits its aim and objectives. The action model of Cole has been used as the main instrument of the study stressing the importance of the structure of the organization, its management, the culture of management;human, financial and physical resources. A semi-structured interview of experts has been used for testing the quality investigation. The investigation has revealed that changes in the structure of the organization might be helpful for a more successful implementation of a strategy (higher effectiveness and flexibility of the decision-making process) Reforming the object should be targeted at delegating responsibilities to certain departments which provide some special service and guarantee high quality. Preconditions as well as recommendations for effective implementation of a strategy are also provided in the study.
