A first Lithuanian blog portal blogas.lt was created in 2005 and was adapted for Lithuanian users of blogs. The first English blogs appeared in the last decade of XX century. So researches on this new phenomenon started not long ago and attention is still growing. A new community appears on a basis of the blogs and their users represent themselves through blogs. In my work I study the blogs’ community, which appeared as a copy of an English blog’s community’s model. The Lithuanian blogs’ community grows rapidly and the number of its members is constantly increasing. It has some elements of non-internet community. For example, it has a specific social hierarchy, a value system, mechanism of its members‘control and reproduction and a diversity of its forms of social life. The Lithuanian blogs are used for achieving different goals, their thematic is universal. Blog users can choose any topic to write about and publish information by using different publishing means. A software, which is used by the Lithuanian blogs‘ portals, enables users to represent themselves throught their blogs, to be members of the blog community and to communicate with other users. My paper‘s goal is to analyze different aspects of the Lithuanian blogs‘ community: its genesys, structure, blogs‘ usage and subject matter. A qualitative research was conducted in order to achieve this goals. The Lithuanian blog sites blogas.lt and blog.delfi.lt/ were analysed. A structure of lithuanian blogs, software , increase of blogs‘ number, usage and topics were analyzed. Results of the research are: liethuanian blogs are used as a mean of self representation, their topics are diversive. Lithuanian blogs constitute the internet community, which has a structure, social hierarchy, system of values, mechanizms of control and reproduction, and diversity of forms of social lifestyle. |
