Abstract [eng] This work of master is intended to asertain the factors of subjective well - being of persons recognized as irresponsible. Wit reference to the accoplished analysis of scientific literature, the conception of compulsory treatment, the course and the juridical regulations of compulsory treatment are presented in the theoretical part. The development of the system of compulsory treatment in Lithuania is presented. The conception of objective and subjective well - being is described. The researches conducted in the mental hospital of Rokiskis are described in the investigative part. 261 person recognized as irresponsible took part in the research. The aim of the research is to find out some aspects of subjective well - being of persons recognized as irresponsable and probable factors, influencing their life. The aim and the goals are oriented to the factors which determine the well- being of persons recognized as irresponsible. The results of the research showed that physical and psychological health, incomes, pastime activities are important factors which are related to the common satisfaction with their life. The effect of tranguilizers, a reduced state of mind, restricted possibilities to be outside impact on bad physical health of persons recognized as irresponsible. The perturbation because of the conducted crime, the relation with the surrounding, unclear future plans have influence on their negative psychological health. Self - assessment, optimism, openness to new experience, agreement with other people are related to the main components of subjective well - being. Persons recognized as irreponsible keep social contacts with their relatives and other people, and also the support of their relatives, their goodwill, moral and material help are very important to them. The help of specialists is necessary not only in the izolated surroundings but also because of the chanse to recover sooner, to understand the effects of their negative behaviour and to learn to live with their disability. A meaningful free - time, taking part in pastime activities, the achievement of new skills are an important part of treatment which gives self - contidense, a possibility to live being less dependent on other people. The assesment of well - being of persons recognized as irresponsible are different according to the following groups: education, the character of the crime, the length of compulsory treatment, the regime of treatment and diagnosis.
