Abstract [eng] SUMMARY Social work MANAGEMENT OF PSYCHOSOCIAL SERVICES FOR THE RELATIVES OF PALLIATIVE CARE PATIENTS AT NURSING HOSPITAL Regina Kvetkaitė Vilnius University, Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Social Work The study problem: to analyse the objective and apropos management of psychosocial services and its complication for the relatives of palliative care patients at nursing hospital. Quality of life and comfort before death can be significantly improved thanks to palliative care, but too often it is ignored and seen as a last resort. It is necessary to maximize the highlight events and to provide all possible information to those who are interested in it. The study object: management of psychosocial services for the relatives of palliative care patients at nursing hospital. Material and methods: the survey implied the anonymous questionnaire (n=62) for the relatives of palliative care patients. Statistical data analysis was performed using statistical package „SPSS“ and „Microsoft Excel“ software. Results. Comparing psychosocial support needs for men and women: the importance of interaction with the health care team and psychological support needs are more important for women than for men. The results showed these trends of residents and the interoperability of services: exploratory of interaction with health care and support team (95,5%), information and aid needs (90%), psychological, spiritual, emotional support (88,7%) needs are particularly important. Information and aid need is more tender for men than women. The study results showed that the psychological, spiritual, emotional need support equally important for both men and women, these services necessity reflects in the results obtained: psichological 88,7 percent, spiritual 85,5 percent, emotional 88,7 percent. 79 percent of interviewees say that they need a man, which could be any time to talk. 59,6 percent would like to be able to express their opinions, points of view. It was extremely important to find out about new services, the need for palliative patients among relatives in this work. One of the prevailing needs are psychological consultations, 95 percent of interviewees need it, the need for spiritual help stressed 56,4 percent and 45,2 percent of interviewees want to attain mutual aid (i.e. mutual aid groups creation). Staying near the ailing man in care hospital in confidential environment identified 88,9 percent of interviewees. There are 72,7 percent men ir 97,5 percent women of them. 96,8 percent respondents acknowledged that the nursing process should be a pleasant interaction.
