Abstract [eng] The object of this graduate study is the management of strategic competence in knowledge organization. The objective of the study is to identify the ways of the management of strategic competence in knowledge organization considering theoretical and practical levels. To reach it the following goals were established: identify existing definitions of strategic competence, identify characteristics of knowledge organization and their types, identify and define the connection between management of knowledge organization and organization’s competences. Furthermore, after making analysis the last goal is to find how the knowledge organization characteristics unfold in organization. After analyzing the scientific literature by applying the methods of scientific resource analysis, induction, deduction and synthesis, the ways of defining strategic competence, the characteristics and the type of organizing the information have been determined. The principals, which are recommended for managing strategic competences of employees and those of the organization, have been set as well. Based on the works of both Lithuanian and foreign scientists including N. Petkevičiūtė, E. Kaminskytė, I. Nonaka, T. Ley, T. Davenport, L. Prusak, J. Tidd, R. Sanchez, K, K. Kuwada it can be stated that the management of strategic competences within the organization determines its ability to adopt to the constant external challenges as well as it has a direct influence on the company's exclusiveness and it's ability to compete in the market. The material received during the practical study allows making an implication that contemporary information companies can be identified by the specifications of their services and by the relation between product making and managing processes and the information. The study has also revealed that the strategic competences and the exclusiveness of the company inside the information organizations are first of all managed by the competence of the employees. In this way the process relates to the information management. This study can be both useful for scientists of information and knowledge management field, and for scientists, who explore management of competences at two levels: the employees and organization. Moreover, it can also be profitable for the academics and students, whose work is associated with the management of competences.
