Abstract [eng] One of the greatest threats to biological diversity is non-native species spread these days. Invasive species cause a lot off biological, economic and social problems in all around the world. When they get in to the new area, they breed and grow extremely fast and that is how they put into the shade the native species. Small balsam (Impatiens parviflora) studies were carried out in 2007-2010 (on June and August) in these Vilnius city parts: Aukštieji Paneriai, regional park of Verkiai, Salininkai, Žvėrynas, Liepkalnis, Markučiai, Vingis park, forest of Viršuliškės and Lazdynai. During the research it was measured stem height (from plant root neck to the plant apex), height to the plant inflorescence and height till the first and counted branch, in order to evaluate plant superstructure parts morfological parameters. The new sprouts that came out every week were counted and registered in order to analyze sprouts dynamic, seeds and maturation boxes quantity was counted to measure invasive level. After the research of small balsam (Impatiens parviflora) populations was found, that the greatest negative impact on native plants creates in anthropogenic affected areas because small balsam make entire beds. Sprouts abundance and survival clearly depends from microenvironment, nearby growing plants and from sprouts between competing.
