SUMMARY In the constantly changing today's market conditions, knowledge is becoming more and more important in both: business and personal life. It is also one of the most important elements of success and quality of work. Rural tourism business is not an exception - owners and personnel of rural tourism homesteads possess certain knowledge and gain new knowledge, which helps to adapt, to survive and to develop and grow in this area, to create new standards and systems, to destroy well-established myths. The subject of the work - the influence of knowledge management on the quality of rural tourism. The objective of the work - to identify the influence of knowledge management on the quality of rural tourism services. The tasks of the work: 1. To define the concept of knowledge management. 2. To define the characteristics of the rural tourism and the concept of rural tourism services; to identify the importance of quality of service on rural tourism business. 3. To produce a theoretical model of the influence of the knowledge management on the quality of rural tourism services. 4. To assess the impact of knowledge management on the service quality of rural tourism homesteads based in Druskininkai municipality and to determine the correlation between the knowledge management and service quality in this type of business. The analysis of the influence of knowledge management on the quality of service and the quality of service itself has shown that the quality of services provided in rural tourism homesteads is below customer expectations, as there are gaps in all five dimensions of service quality. The analysis also shows that the overall level of expressed and unexpressed knowledge has an adverse influence on the services provided. This correlation indicates that efficient management of knowledge provides a possibility for improvement and enhancement of service quality in rural tourism homesteads. On the grounds of theoretical studies and research, a practical model showing the influence of knowledge management on the services of rural tourism homesteads has been developed. The structure of the work. The work consists of an introduction, three main parts and findings. The work takes 80 pages, there are 8 tables, 28 pictures, 116 sources of literature have been used. Appendices included.
