Abstract [eng] Relevancy of the subject. Over the past decades, our way of life and increasing prosperity had a profound impact on the energy sector, that influeced changes in energy sector future. The increasing demand for energy, rising prices of oil, gas, unstable energy supplies and fears of global warming led to understand that energy is not inexhaustible source. Further the welfare of humanity is very important of solar and other renewable energy sources such as wind, geothermal, hydro and biomass development. Renewable energy can reduce environmental degradation, atmospheric pollution, the greenhouse effect.Lithuania currently focuses on renewable energy sources. This was especially true even in preparation for close Nuclear Power Plant. Object of research – renewable energy resources. The aim of the thesis - to analize posibilities in using renewable energy resources in Lithuania. The main tasks of the work to identify the main existing stimulating factors of renewable energy sources for use, to analyze weaknesses in the development of market, theoretically define promotion elements of RES, to analyze the RES tendency in Lithuania, to analize and to compare Res using promotion instruments in Lithuania and other Baltic countries and to make an opinion study of people in Lithuania to evelue their readiness to invest in RES energy production and use. The paper raised the following hypotheses: H1 – development of RES is slow because of unfavorable political and market conditions; H2 – the lack of RES promotion measures RES power consumption is low; H3 – the existing law in Lithuania is not favorable for RES energy development; H4 – rich people are more likely to start invest in RES technology and use. The first part of the work highlitghted the main RES stimulating factors, identified the main market barriers that stopping using of RES and decribed the main RES promotion instruments. The second part described the present RES using tendency in Lithuania, alalyzes and compare promoting elements in Lithuania and other Baltic countries and made SWOT RES using in Lithuania analysis. The third part described a lithuanian peoples opinion about their willingness to invest in RES energy production and use test, discussed and evaluated to obtain the results of survey.
