Abstract [eng] The importance of accidents at work has increased worldwide, since fatal accidents occur and they create significant amount of costs which affect the worker, the employer, the national economy and society. With accidents you do not know what should have been done until after the accident has taken place, by which time it is too late. If the management do not prioritise safety in a way that enables the employees to understand it and believe in it, the employees will not do so either. Good safety can only be achieved when employers, supervisors and employees work out how to cooperate so that everybody becomes involved in the agreements and activities that need to be implemented in order to achieve safety. The aim of work – investigate accidents at work preventions managment capabilities in Lituanian manufacturing companies. In order to achieve this aim is out the following tasks: • following the literature and document analysis, clarify the concepts of accident, types and consequences; • find out safety management, and prevention opportunities; • to carry out studies that has been made about accidents at work; • to base occupational accidents prevention research management tool; • to investigate accidents at work prevention management of Lithuanian manufacturing companies and to give the results of the study, analysis and interpretation. Structure of the work: Master’s work consist of three main parts: theoretical aspects accidents at work, analysis of already done researches and statistics of accidents at work, results of accidents at work prevention management research, conclusions and offers. Research had shown, that successful accidents at work management depends on leaders carrying timely decision and also employees should work together with managers as a team to achieve good safety at work. The job consists of 67 pages, there are 31 pictures and 8 tables.
