Abstract [eng] This thesis examines the responsibility of the Russian Federation and its entities for international crimes committed in Ukraine, focusing on accountability mechanisms and the effectiveness of legal approaches. It provides a comprehensive legal analysis of the conflict's preconditions, causes, and consequences, with particular attention to crimes of aggression, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. The research investigates the role of the Russian Federation's military and political leadership, the mechanisms of accountability at international and national levels, and the challenges faced in prosecuting perpetrators. A comparative assessment of historical precedents and the current state of investigations underscores the gaps in the legal framework while recommending improved strategies to address international crimes. This work contributes to the broader discourse on state accountability and the strengthening of international legal systems to ensure justice and uphold human rights.
