Abstract [eng] SUMMARY Relevance and problem of the study. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is one of the most innovative educational strategies. Under the 2023 May 2nd Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science order no. V-615 “Description of the procedure and funding conditions for forming inclusive groups and classes to students, and organizing education in them” provides a legal basis for the creation of inclusive classes according to the principles of UDL. On this basis, the problematic questions of the masters’ thesis were formulated: How are the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) implemented in inclusive classrooms? What are the pros and cons of the implementation? The object of the study – creating Inclusive Classrooms using universal design for learning principles. The aim of the study – investigate how the principles of universal design for learning are implemented in inclusive classrooms. Objectives: 1. Based on the theoretical analysis of scientific literature, to reveal the concept and basic principles of universal design for learning, their application in the process of inclusive education. 2. To analyze the links between open classrooms and access to universal design learning. 3. Based on the results of the semi-structured interview analysis, to identify how the principles of universal design are implemented in inclusive classroom models. 4. Using the group discussion method, to determine the advantages and difficulties of applying the principles of the universal design to learning in inclusive classes. Research methodology, methods and sample. The chosen qualitative research strategy is based on methodological theories and paradigms of social constructivism and the ecological theory concept. Research methods: theoretical document analysis, the focus group method, semi-structured interviews and qualitative research data analysis. The sample of the study are eight informants of school X, gathered by applying the method of targeted sampling of typical cases. Results of the research. The establishment of inclusive classrooms, applying the principles of UDL, based on an inclusive perspective, is focused on creating an universal learning environment. This way, learning obstacles are removed, conditions are created for the involvement of every student in the education process, regardless of their abilities and skills.
