The aim of this Master's thesis is to examine the impact of a manager's coaching skills, team learning and psychological empowerment on team performance, with a focus on their relation to team effectiveness and efficiency. The theoretical part analyses the concepts of coaching, team learning and psychological empowerment, their relevance in organisations and their relationship with each other, according to existing research. The main focus is on the impact of managerial coaching skills in team activities to facilitate team learning and psychological empowerment. The empirical part of the thesis presents the research methodology with the main objective of measuring how managerial coaching skills, team learning and psychological empowerment affect team performance. The study involved 223 respondents from project teams in the energy, biotechnology and information communication and technology sectors, who completed questionnaires to assess their manager's coaching skills, team learning, empowerment and project performance. Regression and mediation analyses indicated that the manager's coaching skills have a positive but indirect impact on the team's effectiveness and efficiency, and that this impact comes through the team's learning and psychological empowerment. Team learning and psychological empowerment were identified as important mediators of the effect of managerial coaching skills on team performance. Larger teams with more than 10 members were found to have higher levels of psychological empowerment, which directly contributes to team effectiveness and efficiency. 100 The results of this study confirm that the effective use of coaching in organisations can contribute to enhancing overall team performance. These can be useful insights for academic researchers, practicing managers and human resource professionals seeking to build high performance teams and increase productivity and effectiveness.
