This thesis investigates the psychological factors influencing intentions to reduce vegetable and fruit waste among Lithuanian consumers, utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior, the Theory of Interpersonal Behavior and the Norm-Activation Theory. Analysis of survey data from 271 participants reveals that awareness of consequences and ascription of responsibility are significant predictors of personal norms, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, personal norms and anticipated guilt are significant predictors of waste reduction intentions. The study highlights the critical role of targeted educational programs and community engagement in enhancing sustainable waste management practices in Lithuania. |
