The Quality Factors of Research Laboratory and the Directions of Improvement 74 pages, 11 tables, 13 pictures, 68 references. The main goal of this master’s thesis is to determine an area for improvement of X organization research laboratories, to identify factors, which are related to the quality of laboratory activities, to reveal way of development and suggest the most appropriate quality management methods and tools for laboratories quality management system, which would help to improve quality of laboratories work activities. Used research methods: literary analysis of Lithuanian and foreign authors (scientific articles, books related to the topic of quality management); Primary data collection method (questionnaire survey); Analysis of research data (used Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and SPSS programs); Conclusions and recommendations. The master's thesis consists of four main parts. In the first part factors are discussed, that are related with the quality of laboratories activities, which are necessary for quality assurance, effective management of processes and personnel. Second part analyzes the quality management tools and methods that can be implemented in research laboratories for quality improvement (ISO 17025 standard requirements; total quality management principles; Cause and effect diagram; Lean and Six Sigma). Third part presents methods which are appropriate for quality assurance and quality control in research laboratories (participation in the comparative testing; quality audits). The last, fourth part presents author's research on quality factors in X organization research laboratories. After analyzing research data, weak areas and the factors, which are related with the quality of work results in X organization laboratories, are determined. In the conclusions and recommendations part of master's thesis, a brief overview of literary part, summarized author's research results, and suggestions for laboratories quality improvement are presented. |
