Abstract [eng] Prevalence of Mental Health Risk Factors among Students in Lithuania There are a numberof studiesin Lithuania and whole world about depression among young people. However, the prevalence of several risk factors (mental health literacy, sense of coherence, depressiveness, suicidal thoughts, social support) among universities, colleges, vocational studentsin Lithuania has not been studied. Aim of the study – to assess mental health risk factors prevalence among Lithuanian students. Objectives: 1. To identifythe inner coherence level of mental health literacy and social support in Lithuania universities, colleges andvocational schools students. 2. To identify depression and suicidal thoughts prevalence among students according to different social and demographic factors. 3. To assess links between depression and sense of coherence, mental health literacy, social support in Lithuanian students. Methods:epidemiological prevalence study was conducted.Data were collected in Vilnius and Kaunas learning institutionsusing an anonymous questionnaire method. There were prepared one questionnaire for all students. The study was carried out in January – February, 2017. 1200 anonymous questionnaires were handed out. 1122 returned completed and suitable for analysis. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 13.0 for Windows software package. Statistically significant at p <0.05. Results and conclucions: universities, colleges, vocational schools students sense of coherence level is average. A good internal coherence have about 28 percent of students. Mental health literacy level is good in a half of students. Most students can talk about their concerns with mother and friends. However, only 26 percentof students can talk with teachers, lecturers. The majority of students are not depressed (68,68 percent). 39,0 percent men‘s and 26,5 percent woman‘sdo not have depressiveness. Almost half of vocational school students have depressiveness. For the last 12 months 9 percent women and 12,5 percent men thought about suicide - usually 25 years university students. Among the students about 4 percent created the suicide plan and 3 percent tried to commit suicide. A statistically significant relationship found between depression and inner harmony, mental health literacy, suicidal ideation, suicide plans, suicide attempts and social assistance.
