Ingrida Pinkevičienė master’s thesis: Sales Problems of Non-Prescription Drugs Containing Acetaminophen in Lithuanian. Research lecturer P. Kostas Ivanauskas. Vilnius University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pathology, Forensic Medicine and Pharmacology – Vilnius 2016 - 2017. The aim: to find out the sales problems of non-prescription drugs containing acetaminophen in Lithuanian. Methodology: the research was carried out in Vilnius Žirmūnai neighborhood and Jonava since January 2017 until March 2017. The method of anonymous survey was chosen to carry out the research. 357 filled in and eligible questionnaires were analysed. The survey sample was calculated using Raosoft survey sample calculator. Descriptive and comparative statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software version 22. Result: 357 respondents participated in the survey: 89 men and 268 women (24.9 per cent and 75.1 per cent). The largest proportion of the respondents were in the age group from 31 to 40 years (30.8 per cent). Majority of the respondents had a degree of higher education (51.8 per cent). Most of the survey participants were employed (81.2 per cent). Majority (83.5 per cent) of survey participants knew too big dose of Paracetamol could be toxic. Only some respondents (10.4 per cent) knew the maximum daily dose of this medicine for adults. The majority of respondents (72.3 per cent) indicated that taking Paracetamol, a third of them (33.3 per cent) treated with Ibuprofen, Aspirin was use 14.3 per cent at high temperature. According to the survey most commonly used cold medications with acetaminophen was Theraflu (33.3 per cent). According to the survey, the most commonly used medicine in headache was Citramon, Citramon forte, Neocitramonas. they noted more than a fifth of respondents (27.7 per cent). They were chosen by 27.7 per cent of respondents. Survey showed that price was significant driver (p> 0.05). Medication with Paracetamol for affordable prices tend to prefer older than 61 years were (their share - 37.8 per cent.). The study data showed that Paracetamol and compound medication with Paracetamol prefer to use their own discretion almost half of the patients (48.7 per cent), 38.7 per cent of the medicines purchased on a recommendation from the pharmacist, and 28.3 per cent - appointed doctor. In addition to drugs prescribed for colds, respondents received additional medicines obtained (48. per cent). 46.88 per cent of these, chose the medicines with ibuprofen and with Diclofenac - 45.31 per cent. |
