The analysis of work is based on the first and the last Turgenev's novels, correspondingly «The Dog» and «After Death (Klara Milich)». Here we identified that mystical for Turgenev was a sound or visual hallucination. Fear of illness and death were among of the factors which affected Turgenev to write such novels. Furthermore, one of the reasons of his interest in mystical was the duality of his character that is depicted in his works.
