Abstract [eng] Summary Theme of this master thesis is The problem of derivational meaning. The problem – there is not single definition of meaning in Lithuania and in the global linguistics. It is because meaning is the most fundamental notion of science. It is very important to decribe the factors wich determine the derivational meaning. One of the most valid implements of this reseach are the theory of prototypes and the theory of verification of sign. The goal of this paper – to ascertain which essencial and peripheral features of derivational meaning has the derivative of suffixes, inflections and convertion. According to them to define derivation meaning. The material was taken from the Lithuanian grammar (1997). According to the derivation values was take the most productive, less productive and low productive derivatives. The examples of conversion were taken from Huddleston and Pullum The Cambridge Grammar of the English language (2002). It was tested in one hundred and twenty (221) derivative: one hundred and five (105) suffixes derivatives, sixty two (62) ending derivatives, and fifty-four (54) cases of conversion. Study observed that the speech conversion instances economy and transposition of the peripheral signs of central turns, the only demonstrates the formation. Conclusions – derivational meaning has five essential and two attributes features, which, in some cases, lead to derivational. This thesis is interesting and useful for those interested in cognitive linguistics research methods of derivation research.
