Abstract [eng] This Master's thesis analyses the protection of geographical indications of craft and industrial producers by examining the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union, international, European Union and national legislation, studies carried out on the protection of these geographical indications, and the issues and opinions highlighted in legal doctrine. The work provides an overview of the concept of geographical indication in the European Union, its origins and the evolution of protection. It analyses the protection of GIs of craft and industrial producers prior to the introduction of sui generis protection by Regulation (EU) No 2023/2411. It assesses the opportunities available to producers at international, European Union and national levels. It also highlights the key reasons for the adoption of the Regulation in question. The analysis of the Regulation itself focuses on the concepts of subject and object, looking at the requirements imposed on them and the problematic aspects that may cause uncertainties and hinder the achievement of the objectives. It also analyses a number of elements related to the protection system, chosen for their novelty and importance. The selected security system is discussed, the evocation and the introduction and evaluation of the concept are analysed. The protection in the online environment is highlighted, in particular in terms of establishing the protection of domain names and the protection against misrepresentation in the online environment. The paper also provides an overview of the choice that Lithuania had to make regarding the registration system and the decision taken. It assesses which products of Lithuanian craftsmen and industrial producers could be jointly registered, taking into account the interest of the actors and the actions and attitudes of the State in this respect.
