Abstract [eng] Title. Diagnosis and treatment of pediatric burns. Literature review Author. Renatas Kedikas Supervisor. Prof. dr. Gilvydas Verkauskas Aim of the study. To analyze the methods of diagnosis and treatment of pediatric burns in the context of the latest scientific literature. Methods and materials. A review of the scientific literature between 2024 and 2025 using evidence-based medicine sources „PubMed“, „Google Scholar“, „Elsevier“. Searches were based on the following keyword combinations: „Pediatric burns”, „Burn injury”, „Pediatric resuscitation”, „Wound healing”, „Wound imaging”. 53 articles were selected for analysis. Results. The literature review included 53 English language publications published in the last ten years. The analysis shows that modern technologies such as laser Doppler imaging and 3D bioprinting significantly improve the efficiency of burn diagnosis and treatment in children. Intelligent technologies allow for more accurate determination of burn area and depth, leading to faster and more accurate clinical decision-making. In addition, fluid therapy techniques, pain management, and advanced surgical treatments such as hydrosurgery and enzyme therapy are discussed in detail. Conclusions. A review of the literature shows that the use of the latest technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric burns can significantly improve treatment efficacy and quality of life for patients. Advanced techniques such as Doppler ultrasound, laser Doppler imaging, 3D bioprinting technologies, and innovative surgical techniques may contribute to improved quality of care. However, these approaches require more detailed clinical studies. In addition, national guidelines need to be updated to incorporate the latest science-based techniques to ensure the highest standards of care.
