Abstract [eng] Rationale for the study. Cancer and its treatment cause many physical, psychological and social problems. Both during and after treatment, there are long-lasting effects that often negatively affect the quality of life of cancer survivors. In addition, hope can be diminished during treatment, which has a negative impact on the emotional state of women with cancer and on the whole treatment process. It is therefore important to research and find effective interventions that improve the quality of life of patients and enhance their hope for recovery. The aim of the study is to reveal the impact of DMT on the quality of life and sense of hope of women with cancer, to analyse their subjective experience and to assess the relationship between hope and quality of life. Study objectives: 1. Analyse the scientific literature on the impact of cancer on biopsychosocial health. 2. to analyse the quality of life of women who are undergoing or have already overcome oncological disease, and to reveal the potential of the application of DMT in this target group. 3. To analyse the scientific literature on the relationship between hope and quality of life in women with cancer. 4. Based on a quantitative study, to assess the impact of DMT on quality of life and hope in women with cancer and to measure the relationship between hope and quality of life. 5. Based on the qualitative research, the experience of the subjects who participated in the DMT. Research methods. Methods Triangulation was used in this study. Standardised questionnaires were used in the quantitative study and the data collected were analysed using statistical analysis methods. For the qualitative study, data were collected using semi-structured interviews and the story method. The qualitative data collected was analysed using thematic analysis. Study results. The results showed a statistically significant (p < 0.05) improvement in general health and quality of life with a moderate effect size. Functional scale components such as role performance, emotional and social functioning showed a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.05), with a statistically significant change in performance of activities of daily living, with moderate to strong effects. Cognitive functioning was close to statistical significance (p = 0.053). Physical functioning improved slightly, with a statistically insignificant change, but with a moderate effect size. On the symptom scale, components such as fatigue, pain, insomnia and loss of appetite showed a significant decrease (p < 0.05), which is statistically significant and a moderate to large effect size. Constipation decreased (p = 0.066), but did not reach the significance threshold, but the effect was of moderate effect. Nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea, shortness of breath, financial hardship did not reach significance (p > 0.1). Before the DMT intervention, there was a moderate correlation between hope and cognitive functioning, which was statistically significant (p < 0.05), and between nausea and vomiting, but the relationship was not statistically significant. The results of the qualitative research showed that the DMT was a new, emotionally enriching experience for the participants, helping them to relax, get to know themselves better and reduce feelings of loneliness. Hope was strengthened during the therapy and the desire to act, to take action. The participants' emotional state, social relationships and self-perception improved after the DMT. Conclusions. Patients who have participated in DMT have confirmed that it is an effective tool to improve their emotional and social well-being - it reduces stress, improves mood, promotes self-knowledge, self-confidence and a sense of community. Analysis of the results of the study showed an improvement in the patients' quality of life and the emergence of hope as an important inner resource to cope with the challenges and difficulties of the disease and to achieve a full life.
