Abstract [eng] |
The poultry industry is facing increasing challenges to ensure sustainability and opportunities for ethical practices. At the same time, consumer demand for organic, ethically farmed products is increasing, but price issues remain. Modern management models, such as Japanese approaches (Kaizen, JIT, Kanban, 5S), offer opportunities for more efficient resource management and waste reduction, but their application in the poultry sector requires further research and tailoring to the specific needs of the industry. This paper presents a study on how to improve the sustainability levels of a poultry farming business through the application of Japanese management models and at the same time assesses the opinions from the industry on whether this is feasible. |
