Summary The final thesis sustainable leadership experiences of educational institution managers. A scientific literature review identifies the key characteristics and dimensions of sustainable leadership, emphasizing its manifestation and significance within educational institutions. The study reveals that sustainable leadership shapes the institutional culture by fostering collaboration, trust, and respect while promoting dialogue among teachers, students, and parents. This, in turn, contributes to the development of a strong school culture Research focus: Sustainable leadership experiences of educational institution managers. Research Aim: To analyze the experiences of educational institution leaders in sustainable leadership. To achieve this aim, the following research sub-objectives were formulated: 1. to identify the core dimensions and characteristics of sustainable leadership; 2. to examine the significance and role of sustainable leadership within educational institutions; 3. to discuss and compare the experiences of educational institution leaders in applying sustainable leadership. The study employs a qualitative research approach, with eight eduational institution leaders participating. The collected data was analyzed using content analysis. The findings highlight the competencies and skills essential for leaders to successfully implement sustainable leadership principles in educational institutions. Leadership is characterized as teamwork, motivation, learning, stability and direction and values. Furthermore, key personality traits of sustainable leaders include responsibility, care, and resilience. The analysis of leaders‘ understanding of sustainable leadership and its manifestation in educational institutions underscores the importance of community engagement, long-term and sustainable decision-making, inovation, continuous learning performance outcomes, staff motivation, and emotional well-being. The study identifies key attributes of a sustainable leader, such as responsibility, respect, trust, adaptability to change, understanding, empathy, fairness, and authenticity. Both the positive and challenging aspects of sustainable leadership are discussed, along with its benefits for educational institutions. These benefits include long-term, organizational value and sustainability, inovation, community engagement, student well-being, adherence to institutional regulations, and a positive institutional climate. |
