The aim of the Master’s thesis is to develop cartographic work(s), reflecting the potential impact of the depth of water, location, meteorological conditions of weather, season, time of the day on fishing catches. Various methods are used in this thesis: theoretical and historical analysis, statistical methods, data collection, comparison and systematic analysis, and formulation of conclusions. The thesis consists of an introduction, three parts, conclusions and suggestions, references, summary in Lithuanian and English, as well as annexes. This thesis focuses on the mapping of fishing areas which would be potentially abundant in fishing catches. The research was carried out using bathymetric data of Kaunas Reservoir and questionnaire survey of potential fishermen. Review of literature includes the history of fishing, regulations on amateur fishing in Lithuania, works of authors, who carried out similar studies. Works related to the topic of the research of other researchers, schemes of their works and results are provided. In section of work methodology, a range of devices available to carry out researches, the software used, reporting techniques are comprehensively analysed. The process of the researches carried out, the used devices, the most important parameters of the work, mapping schemes are described. More than 120 respondents were interviewed. The questionnaire method was one of the main means of the research. According to the systematized data, a map of potentially abundant fishing catch areas was drawn up that reflects the results of the survey. The areas where the probability of fishing catch is big, medium and small were distinguished. |
