Synthesis and Investigation of Various Lanthanum Molybdates The industry at this moment requires multifunctional new materials with the particular properties. Various lanthanum molybdates do meet now day’s requirements for the good ion conductivity and chemical stability in low and high temperatures. In order to produce these kinds of materials it is important to have suitable synthesis technique, which can be environment friendly, easy, cheap and controllable. One of the best an aqueous synthesis method is the aqueous sol-gel synthesis, in order to produce various lanthanum molybdates not only for the laboratory uses but in industry. In this work, I report the synthesis of La–Mo–O tartrate and citrate gels with initial composition for La2Mo3O12 and La2Mo2O9 ceramics prepared by aqueous sol–gel synthesis route using tartaric and citric acid as a complexing agent. Moreover, LaMo2O8 oxide doped with alkaline metals by aqueous sol-gel synthesis method was also prepared. The thermal decomposition of the all gels, which is the critical stage of this preparation technique, investigated in detail. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV–Vis spectroscopy used for the determination of crystal structure, surface morphology samples annealed at 400 and 600 oC temperatures, respectively. Optical and thermal conductivity properties were also reported in this work. |
