Abstract [eng] |
This project aims to enhance the English Phonetics component of the English Phonetics and Morphology course, delivered to approximately 60 students in the autumn semester. The course seeks to develop both general and subject competencies, currently employing problem-oriented lectures, individual tasks, and mini-tests. A significant challenge identified is the lack of prior learning among students. To address this, future plans include implementing various Active Learning Techniques such as Learning Cell and Jigsaw. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) will be introduced through the use of Perusall and a practical speech sound perception experiment. Additionally, Digital Enhanced Learning Technologies (DELT), specifically the icSpeech Pronunciation Coach, will be integrated. The action plan outlines steps to incrementally try these active learning techniques and the project exercise with some students, familiarise with and then apply Perusall and icSpeech Pronunciation Coach, and gather student feedback. |
