Abstract [eng] More than 400 million of the world's population have mental or behavioural disorders, this means that in every fourth family at least one family member is suffering from mental illness1. In Ukraine are more than 2 million disabled people (Bayda, 2012). From 2012 in a nursing home lives over that 50 thousand disabled people, one million people are provided daily social services by the territorial centers of Ukraine (Lekhan, Rudiy, Shevchenko, Nitzan-Kaluski, Richardson, 2015). During the year 2016, 11 399 persons were acknowledged as disabled in Lithuania, about 11 percent of this population disability is due to mental and behavioural disorders (ICD-10: F00-F99) (Higienos instituto Sveikatos informacijos centras2, 2017). State Center for Mental Health3 points out, that in 2016 in Lithuania 209 thousands of population had mental and behavioural disorders. In order to identificate the relations between professional competence of social worker`s in working with people with mental and behavioural disorders and sense of coherence, was carried out a quantitative study.
