| Abstract [eng] |
This article examines the activities of the Lithuanian Communist Party and its efforts to utilise a strategy emerging after the Seventh Comintern Congress to infiltrate, establish, and exploit legal Lithuanian organisations in order to influence their members, dissem- inate propaganda, or bring these organisations under their control. Although commu- nist activity in Lithuania was fairly insubstantial, communists used their operations to approach and establish contact with individual leaders on the Lithuanian left and later, after the Soviet occupation, exploited them to form a new administration. |
